EXCALIBUR'S ERROL WILLIAMSON WINS AGAIN...& AGAIN!

Many congratulations to Errol, who last night (26th March, 2019) won the Area International Speech and Evaluation contests. A huge achievement from one of our very finest speakers. Onward and upward: it's the Division contest next!

International Speech and Evaluation Competitions - Round One.

We met on 27th February for the first rounds of the International Speech and Evaluation Competitions. The Speech Competition Chairperson was Simon.

Six excellent and entirely different speeches were delivered by Carolina, Ben, Ian, Chinkata, Errol and Simon, with all contestants completing their speeches within the required times.

After a short break, David took over as Competition Chairperson for the Evaluation Contest. Our mystery speaker was Eduardo.

Eduardo's fascinating speech was evaluated by Ian, Cat, Carolina, Chinkata, Errol and Simon.

While the judges' scores were being counted, recounted, checked and double-checked, we held a Table Topics session before Andy, the Chief Judge, informed us that it was time to announce our winners for the evening.

The results were as follows:

International Speech Competition

First Place: Errol

Second Place: Ben

Third Place: Carolina

Evaluation Competition

First Place: Errol

Second Place: Chinkata

Third Place: Cat

It was a fun evening of outstanding public speaking and congratulations to everyone - not just those who competed but also those who helped the event run smoothly and on time. This includes our Chief Judge, Andy, our competition judges, Freddie (President), Competition Chairpersons Simon and David, Eduardo, Sonia, Ken, Harsha, Robin and Marcin.

Errol, who swept all before him tonight, will now go on to represent Excalibur at the Area Competition.
